About UCI Summer Session

UCI Summer Session provides the opportunity to expand your horizons, and grow academically and personally. It offers a rich academic program and co-curricular activities that allow you to succeed in your studies while experiencing American culture and university life first-hand.

Summer Session offers more than 800 courses across 70 subject areas. You will join more than 12,000 students who study at UCI during the summer, and enroll in two courses or take a smaller academic load by combining one course within your major and one Academic English course.


Program Date

Six weeks from 24 June to 4 August 2017

* Notes:

  • You are expected to arrive on 24 June for student dormitory check-in if you are living on campus. Please refer to the host institution’s acceptance package for the arrival information.
  • You should only depart after completion of the program.
  • Students may also choose to attend the 10-week session.


Fees

This is a fee-paying program and HKUST students will bear the program fee and the costs for travel, visa, insurance, personal expenses and other administrative fees. A breakdown of the fees can be found HERE.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for the program if you:

  • will have completed Year 1 by the start of program; and
  • CGA 2.0 or above (Students with CGA below 2.0 may also apply. Offers may be given with special consideration.).


Documents required by host institution

  • Copy of your passport (page with your name and photograph)
  • Proof of Funds: Bank statement, letter on bank letterhead, or certification by bank representative with official bank stamp/seal


Application Process

HKUST students must apply through the Global Student Programs Office. Individual direct application to UC Irvine will not be accepted.

Step 2: The Host Institution Application (TO BE COMPLETED AFTER YOU ARE NOMINATED BY HKUST)

Financial Assistance
